| Die Fregatte 'Jylland' wurde auf der Königlichen
Marinewerft gebaut und lief 1860 vom Stapel. Sie wiegt 2450 Tonnen, und
war das letzte grosse Eichenholzschiff der dänischen Marine. Die
'Jylland' hatte sowohl Segel als auch Maschine. Sie hatte eine Segelfläche
von 1881 m2, und die Höhe von der Wasserlinie bis zur Spitze des
Hauptmasts ist 55 M. Der Rumpf ist 71 M. lang und hat einen Tiefgang von 6
M. Die Bestückung bestand aus 44 schweren Vorderladerkanonen. Mit der
Schraube im Wasser und dem Schornstein gehisst, war die Dampf- maschine
klar zum Einsatz. Diese Maschine von 400 nominellen PS war die erste in Dänemark
gebaute Dampfmaschine für ein grosses Schiff. Der 430 Mann grosse
Besatzung ass und schlief auf dem Batteriedeck und dem Unterdeck. |
